All employees have been trained and provided with equipment to keep themselves and you safe while helping to ensure that your space is clean and healthy. Routine Cleaning for Businesses and Employers
- Routinely clean all frequently touched surfaces in the workplace, such as workstations, keyboards, countertops, handrails, and doorknobs. Use cleaning agents that are usually used in these areas and follow the directions on the label.
- Limit and discourage employees from using and sharing other employees’ equipment when possible.
- Most EPA-registered disinfectants should be effective.
- Provide disposable disinfectant wipes so that commonly used or shared surfaces can be cleaned before and after use.
Cleaning & Disinfecting When Someone is Sick
- Areas used by ill persons be closed off, doors and windows be opened and to wait as long as possible before cleaning and disinfection take place (at least 24 hours).
- Clean and disinfect all areas ( offices, bathrooms, shared equipment, and all common areas) used by the sick person(s).
- Use EPA-registered disinfectants, diluted bleach solutions (if appropriate for the surface), or alcohol solutions with at least 70 percent alcohol.
If you have been notified that a person has been diagnosed or is being tested for COVID-19 that has recently been in your commercial, construction, or residential facility, please immediately contact your manager or supervisor, and follow CDC Guidelines.
We Can All Help Prevent the Spread of Viruses
According to the CDC, there is currently no vaccine to prevent COVID-19. Help prevent the spread of viruses. These everyday preventive actions can help prevent the spread of viruses.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- If you feel sick, stay home.
- Always cover your coughs and sneezes.
- Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds at a time. If soap and water is not available use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
